The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) is set to deport 73 Nigerian and Togolese women over their contribution in different illicit acts in the nation. The deportees were captured on Thursday down after a swoop by Authorization Unit of the GIS at the Redco Flats neighborhood at Madina.




They were 72 Nigerians, one Togolese and in addition nine different Ghanaians. A portion of the deportees were nabbed for prostituting whiles other additionally did not have the essential resident permits.
Speaking at a press briefing, the 2IC at the Public Issues of the GIS, Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI), Linda Asare Mantey, said the outside nationals will be deported whiles the Ghanaians have been handed to the Police to be prosecuted.
She said 20 of the suspects were captured at the Lesser Lodging at Madina, which is known to be an area where prostitution is exceptionally uncontrolled.



“It is illegal to come to the country and engage in prostitution,” Supt. Linda Asare Mantey remarked.
She advised that the Ghana Immigration Service will before long direct concentration toward proprietors and managers of hotel offices who contract their offices out to irregular transients and local people to use for prostitution.
